SCALE INSPECTION AND CERTIFICATION

Under the Weights and Measures Act, weighing and measuring devices — including scales used for trade in Canada must be inspected and certified as “legal for trade” to ensure accuracy of the trade measurements.

Flow-Tech Services is approved by Measurement Canada to recertify trade scales for:

  • 2-10, Computing Scales/ Non-automatic retail computing counter scales
  • 2-20, Computing Scales/ Non-automatic point of sale (POS) systems
  • 2-30, Computing Scales/ Non-automatic prepack scales
  • 3-10, Platform Scales/ Non-automatic single-deck platform scales
  • 5-10, Crane Scales/ Non-automatic crane scales
  • 7-10, Overhead Rail Scales/ Non-automatic overhead rail scales

Canada's Weights and Measures Act requires that your scale be certified by Measurement Canada to meet strict accuracy standards required in business based on the weight of goods. Any weighing and measuring devices found to be inaccurate, will need to be repaired. Our team can help recertify your trade scales to meet the strict standards. We are authorized to inspect and certify devices, and affix a government sticker immediately after the device has been brought back into compliance.

If you need your scale certified or questions about the best scale for your business, call us at 403-291-0055 or email flowetchservices@spswest.com. We are happy to help!
